HARTLEY’S CROCODILE ADVENTURES

Visit one of Cairn’s oldest running tourist institutions. Starting off as a tea house in 1934 legend has it that the original owner, Pop Evans entertained motorists between Cairns and Mossman by feedling Charlie the resident crocodile while scones cooked in the wood stove. Pop Evans is widely regarded as the first person in Australia to perform crocodile shows for the public.

Fast forward to 2022 and Hartley’s has undergone several renovations and even a move to Hartley’s creek. Delivering authentic crocodile experiences, Hartley’s is renowned as an eco-friendly and sustainable tourist attraction. It’s no longer just crocs though! A visit to the park entails encounters with wildlife including koalas, cassowaries and other reptiles. Hartley’s is a great day out for the family and showcases the amazing range of flora and fauna living in Tropical North Queensland.
